Interested in developing countries, the causes of poverty, social justice and environmental sustainability? Want to make a difference?
Every year the One World Society organises One World Week, Fair Trade Fortnight and countless other events. The One World Society is also involved with the Limerick Fairtrade City Committee and members of the society were part of the original group who worked to achieve Fairtrade status for the city and for the college. The One World Society work tirelessly to promote the Fairtrade message and to ensure that Fairtrade products are available to students in the College.
Last year, the One World Society won the BICS (Board of Irish College Societies) award for "Best Civic Society" for a small college in Ireland. Some members also went to Oxford during the summer to attend workshops and meet loads of people from all over the world with similar societies and came back with loads of ideas for this year.
