Hi Everyone!
It's nearly Week 10! Time is flying. Assignments and essays are coming thick and fast.
Stress can be a major factor at this time. We all need time to wind down and recharge.
MIC had its Mental Health Week recently but it's important to remember that looking after ourselves, both mentally and physically, is an ongoing thing and not just confined to one week in the year. That's where Clubs & Socs can lend a hand.
Clubs can help us stay fit through giving the body a good workout. Societies can help with our mental health by allowing us some 'me' time, to chill-out and relax (chillax!), meet friends in a non-academic environment and by involving our minds in something other than text-books!
To give you an archery example... If you leave a bow tied up all the time, even when not in use, the 'string' will stretch and lose its 'springyness' and the bow will become ineffective.
To keep the bow in tip-top shape, you must 'unhook' the string in between uses so that it will still be strong when needed.
So, use the Clubs & Societies within the college to help you 'unhook your bow' from time to time. This can keep you sharp and focused and can help you stay mentally and physically fit.
Good luck with the essays and assignments!
