HOT Week: Garda Presence

MISU would like to let all students know that there will be Garda presence during HOT Week for students' safety.

This afternoon (Monday Feb 7th), Gardai will be making regular partols around Scott's so students are reminded not to drink alcohol outside the pub as it could results in an on-the-spot fine or possible arrest.

The Prague Summer Schools

The Prague Summer Schools are delivered as seven-day academic programs designed to bring together undergraduate and graduate students of various nationalities and academic backgrounds to enjoy their summer holidays in the unique academic and cultural environment.

We invite you to visit our new website www.praguesummerschools.org to discover the details about the upcoming events. The website contains a brief description about each program, admission deadlines and on-line application. It will also direct you to the separate website of the summer school of your interest for the detailed information on academic content, guidelines to application process, practicalities, photos and alumni feedback.

We also suggest students to submit their applications to Prague Summer Schools by Early Bird Application Deadline of April 29, 2011. The Final Deadline is May 13, 2011.

WOMEN IN Ireland live longer but continue to earn less than men, and continue to be under-represented across a range of sectors in the workplace and public life.

Petition Against FAS Work Placement Programme

Following on from a meeting with final year students on the B.Ed, B.Ed & Psych and Grad Dip programmes, it was unanimously agreed that the students of MIC do not agree with the Work Placement Programme, which would see graduates of these courses volunteering to schools to work as a teacher for two to nine months.

MISU is urging students to make sure they are registered to vote in the forthcoming election and to make their voice heard in these times of uncertainty in third level education.
