Being a massive fan of the books, I always get apprehensive when a new addition to the saga comes out in film version, but I have to say I wasn’t let down by director Bill Condon.
The first half of the fourth instalment finds Bella, still human and alter bound with Edward, striving for a hopeful happily ever after but as followers of the saga know things never run smooth for our favourite couple. An unexpected complication on honeymoon leads our duo to possibly their biggest challenge yet, Edward fighting for Bella’s life and Bella fighting the most important part of her life. Throw in a couple of Wolf- Vampire fights, Jacob’s unrequited love for Bella and the Voultri always lurking around in the background and it is a sound adaption of the book. Unfortunately I felt if you hadn’t read the book s or seen the previous films, Breaking Dawn could be confusing and could lead to alot of “What the hell........?”, my advice is to go see it with a friend who’s a fan or better still pick up the first of the series Twilight by Stephenie Meyer and get cosy over Christmas.
