Outtakes, blooper and gag reels!

- Written by Joanne Tierney

When I buy a new DVD, go home unwrap that annoying cling film plastic, open the box I invariably choose the special features disc. Why, I hear you ask? The special features disc shows me how the movie came to life and also like watching the blooper reels, and in my own personal opinion they can be quite entertaining!

Sometimes I think what it would be like if I had a blooper reel of my own. Am I the only person who thinks that it could be cool to have a blooper reel of their life? Or better still, the ability to immediately change what you’ve just done, to re-enact the last sequence you went through because you know deep down that you messed it up completely! Whenever I did make a complete idiot of myself (which happens from time to time) I could be happy knowing that no-one could see that last chapter because I could just re-do my scene and tell the director and other backstage people of my life “Sorry, I messed that up, can I please do that again?”

Then again, now that I do think about it, if anything like that was even possible, would it mean that we’d be able to predict everything that could go wrong in our lives? I know I certainly couldn’t! Bit of a crystal ball thing isn’t it? You wish you had one to predict the good times, you wish you had one so that you could avoid or change the bad the times. And if something like that was possible it would definitely make the phrase “you learn from your mistakes” completely redundant (and let’s face it we have more than our fair share of redundancy issues at the moment!)

Thought I’d share how my mind works (yes I am that random… not quite all the time though!)

Until next time, keep smiling!
