The Health Promotion Office is located beside the main staircase in the Foundation building. It is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.
The Office is stocked with information about many different health and lifestyle topics. You are welcome to come in and pick up leaflets and brochures for your own personal use and/or for your course work. There is also a stand stocked with health promotion literature in the library building and in the Medical Centre.
Look out for posters and fliers that advertise ongoing courses, programmes and activities. They are also advertised on the electronic notice board. We send out a weekly newsletter to staff and students, which is also posted under “Student Notes” on the Local Area Network (LAN).
Programmes and activities include:
- Yoga classes
- Blood pressure checks
- Stress buster massages
- Healthy eating advice
- Healthy weight management
- Smoking cessation
- Drug & Alcohol awareness week
- Cookery demonstrations
- Mental health training courses
- Suicide prevention training
- Sun smart & travel health advice
- Cancer awareness
- Money advice & budgeting
