Committee Positions

Club/ Society Committee Positions 

The committee shall consist of the following: 
Chairperson
Vice-Chairperson
Treasurer
Public Relations Officer (P.R.O)
Ordinary Committee Member 

Committee Member’s Main Areas of Responsibility 


The Chairperson shall:
• Be chief spokesperson for the club/ society.
• Co-ordinate and oversee all club/ society activities.
• Oversee all committee members.
• Chair all club/ society general and committee meetings.
• Report to the Clubs & Societies Officer at Clubs & Societies Council. 

The Vice-Chairperson shall:
• Act as second to the chairperson.
• Record minutes of all club/ society meetings.
• Assist in all operations of the club/ society
• Be responsible for the non-financial records of the Club/ Society, including the official membership list, manage the correspondence of the Club/ Society and submitting the end of year report to Student's Union. 

The Treasurer shall:
• Be responsible for managing the finances of the club/ society in conjunction with the Clubs & Societies Officer.
• Be responsible for seeking sponsorship
• Be responsible for bringing all receipts to the Student's Union

• Present a financial Treasurers Report to the Clubs & Societies Officer at Clubs & Societies Council 

The P.R.O. shall:
• Be responsible for liaison with the Students Union Executive in matters of communication, publicity and promotion
• Letting Student's Union know of all the events planned and organised by the society
• Be responsible for meeting with the SU Publications/ website editors and the Wired FM Station Manager to publicise society events and meetings
• Be responsible for the hanging up and taking down of all club/society advertising. 

The Ordinary Committee Member:
• The duties and responsibilities shall be determined by each individual club/ society.

Any committee member can be removed from office by a vote of no confidence at the general meeting of the membership, support by a two-thirds majority show of hands. The quorum for such a meeting is 50%+1 of the present membership. The Clubs & Societies Officer and/or Sabbatical Officer shall chair such a meeting.
