Interested in developing countries, the causes of poverty and fair play? Want to make a difference? Join our group to learn more and to help in campaigns. Every year the One WorldSociety organises One World Week and Fair Trade Fortnight. The One World Society is also involved with the Limerick Fairtrade City Committee and members of the society were part of the original group who worked to achieve Fairtrade status for the city. To achieve this status, it was necessary to have a number of retail outlets, catering outlets and other organisations selling, serving or stocking Fairtrade products. Having Fairtrade products available in the student shop and canteen in Mary Immaculate College was a huge help in the campaign for gaining Fairtrade status for Limerick. The One World Society work tirelessly to promote the Fairtrade message and to ensure that Fairtrade products are available to students in the College.
