Spring Semester Results will be available to view online on Monday, 19th June 2023.
How do I access my results?
Students on the Student Administration Portal UNIT-e
First, second and third-year undergraduate full-time students, PME students, LINC and taught postgraduate students registered on the UNIT-e system, can access their results by logging into https://register.mic.ul.ie/, using their Username (MIC Email address) and Network Logon Password, and clicking on the 'Results' tab on the Homepage screen.
Students on the Student Administration Portal SI
Students registered on the SI system can access their results via the MIC Results server https://examresults.mic.ul.ie/
- In order to access your results online, it is essential that you know your Network Logon Password (i.e. the password you use to access Student email, Moodle etc.). If you have forgotten your Network Logon Password, you can reset it via passwordreset.microsoftonline.com.
If your password has expired, you can reset it via adconnect.mic.ul.ie.
For any other issues please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. - We strongly urge you to check that your network logon password is working correctly in advance of the release of results to avoid undue delay in accessing your results.
- If you do not see your current results when you log in, it may be because you have an outstanding fees balance. Please log in to www.si.ul.ie or https://register.mic.ul.ie/ (whichever is applicable to you) to view your balance and make any outstanding payments. Once your account is at a 0 (zero) balance, your results will be released for the next business day on the Student Administration Portal (www.si.ul.ie) or UNIT-e system (https://register.mic.ul.ie/), whichever is applicable to you, as the results will not be updated on the MIC Results Server.
Please note: Under no circumstances can results be given over the phone or email as the College is obliged to protect the confidentiality of results under the Data Protection Acts.
Feedback on Assessments:
Students can access their assignments and view feedback, where it exists, from Monday, 19th June 2023.
Students are asked to follow the steps below to view their script(s):
1. Log into Moodle.
2. Click on the module you wish to view the script for.
3. Click on the link to which you uploaded your assignment.
4. Click on your assignment to view comments/feedback.
Alternative Viewing of Assignments/Exams requesting Further Feedback
The online application period for viewing (additional feedback): Monday 19 - Thursday 22 June 2023, deadline is 4 pm.
If feedback has already been provided to you on Moodle or directly by your lecturer(s), there is no need to submit an application.
Students of the Faculty of Arts
If feedback has not been provided, students should complete and submit the relevant survey for Alternative Viewing of Assignments requesting Further Feedback available here.
Students of the Faculty of Education
In the first instance, students should consult the individual Module Assessment Feedback Document for feedback arrangements (if any) for the module. Please follow the instructions provided by the lecturer(s).
Please note for B.Ed students, the majority of core modules are not providing individualised feedback. Instead, students are advised to self-assess using the detailed grading rubric they were provided with.
Education students who wish to seek feedback from modules that are providing individual feedback should complete and SUBMIT the relevant survey for Alternative Viewing of Assignments requesting Further Feedback available here.
Requested feedback/script viewing will be available to students online on Tuesday 27th & Wednesday 28th of June 2023, and in-person on Wednesday 28th of June 2023.
Arts Faculty viewings will take place in RG1 from 10am-12:30pm and from 2pm-4pm.
Education Faculty viewings will take place in G06a from 10am-12:30pm and from 2pm-4pm.
Rechecks:
Should you believe that your grade in a module is incorrect, you can have the grade rechecked.
The Recheck Application window for the Spring Semester will open Monday 19th June until Friday 30th June incl.
Recheck fee: €25 per module, which is refundable only if the grade is changed as a result of the recheck. Remember grades can be lowered by a recheck, so be sure you really believe the grade awarded is incorrect before applying. Note: Dissertation modules spanning the academic year, e.g. Undergraduate Dissertation 1 in Autumn and Undergraduate Dissertation 2 in Spring equates to two modules and a recheck fee of €50.

You will be notified via your College student email once the grade recheck decision has been finalised by the relevant faculty member.
Should the student not be satisfied with the outcome of the grade recheck, he/she may appeal the matter to the Head of the Department (HoD) responsible for the module. The appeal must be made within two weeks of the publication of the grade recheck result.
The Head of the Department's decision is final.
Appeals:
The Grade Appeal Application window for the Spring semester will open Monday 3 July 2023.
Should the student not be satisfied with the outcome of the grade recheck, they may appeal the matter. The Appeal application must be completed and submitted within two weeks of the publication of the grade recheck result together with the appropriate fee of €50 per module (FYP = 2 modules). The application will be forwarded to the department head responsible for the module.
The appeal must be on stated grounds and should include a full and complete statement on why you believe the grade awarded is incorrect i.e. stating that you deserve a better grade is not sufficient grounds. Please refer to the Student Handbook for further information.
The Head of the Department's decision is final.
A cumulative QCA of 2.00 with no deficient grades (i.e. 'F', 'NG', 'I') is the minimum standard for progression to the next year of your course.
All grades taken in the annual repeats will be capped at C3. The higher of the original or the repeat grade will be awarded in all cases. In cases where students received an I-Grade during semester examinations, these I-Grade modules are not capped at the annual repeats.
Students who do not attain the minimum QCA at the end of the year will on the recommendation of the relevant examination board:
- Repeat the year, or
- Repeat a full semester, or
- Repeat a maximum of two modules in any one semester on a link-in basis. In such an instance, grades are uncapped, or
- Enrolment is terminated.
Annual Repeats
Please note that Annual Repeat Registration does not open until June 2023 - students who need to repeat an Autumn Semester module/exam/assignment/oral etc will receive information after the release of the Spring Semester results.
Generally, if a student fails an exam(s)/assessment(s) in the Autumn or Spring Semester they can avail of the annual repeat in the Summer Semester.
Students who have deficient grades in the Autumn or Spring Semester will receive an Action Report Letter which will provide them with the options available to them to enable them to clear their deficient grades.
Students who can avail of the annual repeat process will be able to register for annual repeat modules from Wednesday 21st June to Wednesday 28th June 2023 inclusive.

Annual Repeat Registration Dates: Wednesday 21 June - Wednesday 28 June 2023 inclusive.
Please note that the repeat fee is €172 per standard module for EU students. Repeat fees for placement modules can vary.
