This week marks MISU's Positive Mental Health Week, and events are already getting started to encourage students to talk to supports and de-stress! Tuesday morning saw the arrival of the inflatable Bungee Ball open to all students to compete and forget about the stresses that can come along with college life. Organisations such as the Samaritans, Limerick Volunteer Centre and Pieta House set up information stands informing students of the services available and supports that are in place.
Clubs and Societies plan to get involved by incorporating events to highlight mental health and raising much needed funds for various charities.
The Art Society will hold a week long Silent Art auction in aid of Pieta House, which will set up in the TARA Forum and bids can be made. The Psychology Society will team up with the LGBT society to host a talk on 'Sexuality and Mental Health'. This will take place on Wednesday November 2nd from 12-1pm in the Student Lounge.
Remember, if you are struggling with a problem no matter how big or small, call into MISU and have a chat with one of our Sabbatical Officers. Alternatively, the College Counsellors have a drop-in hour from 11am to 12pm daily and you can also make an appointment at other times. They are located in T3.11 and T3.12 in the TARA building.
